Moral development
Kohlberg's Theory of Moral Development as shown the the left depicts six stages or three levels of Moral Development (Moral Development image). Each stage explains what thoughts goes through a child's mind at the time.
This is important for teachers and administrators to know because it can guide us how children think. It also allows us to shape how children think. Instead of having children always work for reward we should try and get them to work because they want to learn and work.

Rafe Esquith explains in the video to the left the six levels of moral development in education. He discusses how he teaches children. If we implement the same concept as he has done this should help students grow tremendously in moral development.

The photo to the left shows how a teacher can implement this in a classroom. Instead of having rules as Rafe stated, we should implement morals (Esquith, Rafe). Showing students the six levels of moral development and teaching them correctly what each level is, will help them become a better student and person in society. |
