Rita Pierson gives a lecture about children needing a human relationship. As children go through school they receive information from teachers more than just what is in the academic schedule. Children learn from the people they enjoy. Everyone has been touched by a teacher whether it was good or bad they influenced our life.
We have to find ways to motivate children so they can gain self confidence. Children who have self confidence are more likely to ignore the bullies and focus on their studies because they know what is the truth. Showing students that there is still good in bad days gives them hope to do better tomorrow. |
The comic to the left shows how students procrastinate because they are not motivated to do anything. Every student has different priories in their mind and we must instill that homework should be a number one priority before doing anything else. Having students work on motivating positive things in a students life can help them achieve goals. If students have motivation and it is a negative outcome that is encouraged the student will think that it is okay. We must discipline students in order for them to properly learn motivation and other key values in life.

As teachers and administrators we also must understand what motivates kids who are bullies. The article explains several reasons as to why a child might being to bully in the first place. It also provides ways we can try and reduce bullying. Educating ourselves on bullies will help us in catching those who do bully other children.
